I worked with a small team performing repair, remodeling, and new construction jobs for individual clients. The work involved using multiple disciplines of the construction field, including framing, concrete work, plumbing, electrical work, siding, roofing, and painting. Occasionally, additional remediation work is required in order to address environmental damage, such as mold growth resulting from excess moisture, to the structures.

I worked in the environmental investigation and consulting field, researching sites and conducting hundreds of environmental site investigations and inspections throughout the diverse and widespread southwest United States. I prepared numerous Historic Use reports, SBA Risk Assessment reports, and ASTM and AAI compliant Transaction Screen and Phase I Environmental Site Assessment reports based on those site investigations. I looked for known environmental issues on properties involved in real estate transactions by reviewing regulatory database information; seeking out and interpreting historical maps, photographs and data; performing site inspection visits, and interviewing individuals connected to the property. I was responsible for maintaining appropriate and timely contact with clients, site contacts, regulatory agency personnel, property owners, and lending institutions; scheduling and coordinating site visits; gathering site specific records; and preparing the final report for several concurrent projects. When additional environmental assessment work was deemed necessary, I worked closely with remediation specialists in determining a suitable course of action, which included testing methods and remedial design.

Since 1999, I was responsible for gathering relevant and necessary regulatory agency records, maps, historical records, and other supporting documentation in order to complete due diligence research and facilitate accurate property investigations. I provided research and support documentation for Phase I and Transaction Screen Environmental Site Assessments, which included locating and obtaining data and hard-to-find information in order to accurately determine the type and location of contaminants on properties involved in real estate transactions. I am well versed in determining the access and availability of records and other documentation regarding environmental regulatory compliance at the federal, state and local levels. Over the years, I’ve built several strong working relationships with many regulatory agency personnel and I was able to easily navigate the procedures and requirements for obtaining needed information.

I headed the development, customization and implementation of a computerized database and geocoding system to aid in regulatory research. Data was gathered directly from various federal, state and local agencies and incorporated into an in-house GIS system. By keeping the system in-house, I was able to maintain control over the data and its accuracy and had the ability to keep the databases up-to-date. I produced thousands of environmental records research reports using this system for various lending institutions, real estate professionals, and individual clients. I also managed the company’s computers and network, resolving issues and providing support for most of the employee’s day-to-day needs.
