Richa Vashista (pronouns: she/they), MA Psychology (clinical training), is an integrative psychologist from India, contributing towards the mental health ecosystem for over 10 years. She's the founder of Leher Mental Health that offers shores of support to south asian communities across the globe. Richa’s diverse perspective stems from working in both the public and private sector. Apart from using evidence-based practices, Richa draws from her lived experiences as a queer and neurodivergent individual. They speak at national and international forums, advocating for accessible, equitable, and inclusive psycho-social safety that promotes human rights and dignity for all. This year, Richa was honored with a 'Most Prominent Diversity & Inclusion Leader' award by world HRD Congress. Richa works with south asian communities across the globe and offers individual therapy and relationship counseling, catering to monogamous and polyamorous clients. She provides supervision and holds monthly online spaces for mental health professionals, queer folks and people living with borderline personality. In addition to her clinical work, Richa partners with institutions & companies to support their mental health, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. She is currently on the board of advisors for Evolve, a start up that focuses on mental health for queer folks. Her approach: Richa believes that clients have the capacity to be their authentic selves by centering on their emotions and sensations. A typical session can be non-directive or semi-directive, making space for a collaborative environment. Drawing from internal family systems (IFS) and humanistic principles, Richa delves into the understanding of sub-personalities (parts) that exist within individuals' lives. Her goal in therapy is to facilitate integration among all parts, enabling them to coexist and support clients on their journey towards self-discovery. Their worldview is queer-affirmative, neurodiverse-affirming, intersectional, and centred on social justice. She has formal training in queer and trans* affirmative practices, trauma-centred practices & suicide first aid. She has done a Compassionate & Resilience fellowship by The Foundation for Universal Responsibility (FUR) of His Holiness The Dalai Lamain partnership with The Red Door (TRD).
