Served as internal consultant to the SVP of Customer Service and Director of Customer Energy Resources to achieve strategic goals and tactical objectives.

- Directed a department to establish and expand the role of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) – including Electric Vehicles (EVs) and battery storage - to help address grid needs.- Developed new market for delivery of grid services via DERs.- Conceptualized Grid Services Purchase Agreement (GSPA) contract structure as a means of multi-year procurements of grid services via distributed customer assets.- Built and maintained strong relationships with Public Utilities Commission, vendors, and other Hawaii energy, environmental, business and non-profit stakeholders.- Collaborated with T&D Planning, Generation Planning and system operators to identify bulk system and locational grid services needs and define delivery/response requirements.- Architected a system-of-systems model for aggregation and operationalization of DER services.- Implemented Distributed Energy Management System (DERMS) software for integration with external aggregators, the Company’s CIS, EMS and ADMS.

Participated in an entrepreneur/investor committee to define a clean energy investment thesis. Through the 9-month engagement, we identified 7 clean energy technologies, performed SWOT analysis on 4 or the 7 clean and identified local startups representing each of the technologies for on-site working sessions to stress test SWOT assessments and market qualification. .
