• Served as the Lead Systems Engineer on the Integrated Fixed Towers (IFT) project, a $200M 7-year contract with U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Customs and Border Protection (CBP). • Served as the Deployment Manager on the Integrated Fixed Towers (IFT) project. • Led the systems engineering and deployment of over 60 surveillance towers on the U.S. Border with Mexico. Towers were equipped with ground radar, electro-optical cameras, infra-red cameras, laser range finders, laser illuminators, microwave communications, solar power systems, and fence security systems.• Led the systems engineering and deployment of 5 IFT Command and Control Centers (C2CENs) in the Nogales, Douglas, Sonoita, Tucson, and Ajo Areas of Responsibility (AoRs).• Led the proposal, systems engineering, and deployment efforts to replace the Boeing Secure Border Initiative Network (SBInet) towers and C2CENs in the Tucson and Ajo AoRs.

• Served as product manager and project engineer for the PCIDM product line.• Managed a Network Enabled Weapons project which included developing a tactical communications solution for Small Diameter Bomb 2 (SDB2). Ported software to the QNX operating system hosted on an ARM processor. • Managed the Tactical Information Exchanged Capability (TIEC) project which involved adding a tactical communications link to the UK Harrier and Tornado aircraft. Ported software from the LynxOS operating system to the Green Hills Integrity operating system hosted on a PowerPC processor.• Managed the Apache Bowman Connectivity (ABC) project which involved integrating the Boeing Apache helicopter with the UK Bowman radio network. • Conducted interoperability testing with the FBCB2, AFATDS, C2PC, and PFED using MIL-STD-6017, MIL-STD-2045-47001, and MIL-STD-188-220.• Conducted interoperability testing with the Apache Longbow AH-64D helicopter using AFAPD. • Supported interoperability testing between the Air Force TACP-M system, which uses the PCIDM, and the F-16 using the AFAPD protocol, the AV-8B using the MTS protocol, and the F/A-18 using the MIL-STD-6017 (VMF), MIL-STD-2045-47001, and MIL-STD-188-220 protocols.• Developed the PCIDM Network Monitor to parse and display over-the-air messages using the following protocols: MIL-STD-188-220, MIL-STD-2045-47001, AFAPD, MTS, IDL, TACFIRE, MIL-STD-188-184, IP, UDP, TCP, ICMP, ARP, IGMP, and MIL-STD-3011.• Supported the Network Enabled Weapon Interoperability Working Group (NEWIWG) by adding MIL-STD-3011 and MIL-STD-6016 over MIL-STD-2045-47001 capability to the PCIDM Network Monitor.• Integrated the PCIDM with a number of Combat Network Radios (CNR), including the PRC-117F, PRC-152, PRC-148, SINCGARS RT-1523E, ARC-210, ARC-164, and ARC-186. • Conducted platform System Integration Lab (SIL) testing and supported flight testing with several aircraft including the F-16 and AH-64D.• Developed the SNMP interface for PCIDM.

• Led a small cross functional team to develop the company’s first product, the PCIDM, a tactical data communications controller for use with military radios. • Responsible for product design, development, manufacturing, pricing, and support.• Developed additional products to offer a line of interoperable communications controllers. • Grew product revenue to $5M per year.

• Served as project engineer and project manager on the Iridium Constellation Side Emulator (CSE) project. Developed an emulator for the Iridium satellite constellation that allowed ground station testing and sell-off prior to completion of the low earth orbit satellite constellation.• Designed and developed the IDM software tester. Developed a MIL-STD-1553 device driver for Linux coupled with a TCP/IP client server interface. Developed a logic analyzer application in C++ using Motif and X windows for Linux and Solaris.

• Developed image processing software for the Clementine Deep Space Program Science Experiment (DSPSE) which mapped the moon from lunar orbit. Developed code in C and C++ for an Intel 80186 to read buffered raw image data, feed custom decompression EPLDs, archive images to a SCSI disk, and display images via a custom graphics processor card. Developed code in C for a TI TMS320C10 graphics processor to manipulate and display satellite image data.• Developed C++ software for the Improved Data Modem (IDM) Mid Life Update (MLU) Test Suite, which utilized a TCP/IP client server architecture to control 6 VXI chassis including analog and digital acquisition, frequency synthesizers, and switcher cards.• Developed software for the Improved Data Modem (IDM) Video Imagery Module (VIM). Ported the Epilogue TCP/IP stack to the VIM’s TI TMS320C80 processor. Developed a client server architecture as the interface to the VIM. • Developed code for the IDM 302’s Intel 80960 in C and Ada running on VxWorks. Ported the Epilogue TCP/IP protocol stack to the IDM platform. Debugged and tested the OSPF and BGP4 routing algorithms. Ported and tested the GCOM X.25 protocol stack to the IDM platform. Developed a code generator to implement the IDM SNMP MIB.
