• Assumed leadership of a new systems engineering section; set and executed plans for hiring, process development and training to raise the level of performance to a true tier 1 systems engineering organization. Stabilized key suppliers who were struggling to perform, thus allowing key core components to be delivered to critical programs on time to support critical program commitments. • Managed and kicked-off a team of 25+ engineers to implement an airborne and ground multi-domain secure networking system demonstration for Valiant Shield 2010 exercise. Transitioned effort to a junior management team and provided leadership oversight. Project was successfully accomplished in slightly over 4 months.• Assumed technical leadership of a team of 60+ engineers responsible for designing, deploying and accrediting an air-ground communication network. Team performance was significantly improved yielding an on-schedule, on-budget program which met all customer expectations.• Member of Defense Systems Division (DSD) Technology Steering Group (TSG). Took over the systems engineering role on a $4.7M IRAD project which was struggling to perform. Within three months the project successfully completed its first critical customer demo. Later I assumed Principle Investigator role, worked with business development and program management to define the requirements for the next phase of the project.• Led or supported a variety of technical efforts supporting program pursuits including defining customer requirements, allocating requirements, writing suppplier RFPs and leading techinical negotiations, and generating Basis of Estimate (BOE) cost models using prior program actuals.

Transferred to the ElectroMechanical Systems division located in Irvine, CA. Managed multiple programs from early contract award to Critical Design Review. Also, helped the division adopt established corporate best practices for earned value measurement, change management , risk management, non-recurring and recurring cost estimation, etc.

Lead a variety of programs and projects critical to future business including; pursuit of a NASA funded program for the demonstration of Synthetic Vision System technology, program definition phase for a large scale re-architecting of the core technology (HW and SW) for future commercial and government system product lines, lead a multinational / multi-corporate team (US, German and French) for the DO-178B Level A verfication of the first commercial POSIX operating system including negotiating license agreements and critical subcontracts, later negotiated the reverse intellectual property license to commercialize the operating system.Worked with sister divisions in California to help establish program schedules and execution plans for a twin aisle InFlight Entertainment system. Also helped the divisions adopt corporate best commercial practices for risk management, change management, and earned value measurement.Managed critical supplier relationships.
