GXS is a global supply chain technology provider with $500M in revenue and $150M in EBITDA, headquartered in the Washington DC metro area. The company was owned by Francisco Partners, Golden Gate Capital, and Cerberus prior to the business’ sale to OpenText in January 2014. In January of 2009, I was hired as an incremental resource by the Corporate Development and Strategy Group as part of a broader refresh of the GXS team in an effort to accelerate the achievement of our private equity owners’ goals. Our group was focused on strategic projects with an emphasis on global mergers and acquisitions, but also included divestitures, leveraged finance / corporate finance projects, and organic commercial product initiatives. With regards to M&A, we managed the full M&A lifecycle from deal sourcing, to diligence and valuation to integration planning. Below are some examples of the type of projects our group assisted with:Strategic Transactions- OpenText’s (NASDAQ: OTEX) $1.2B acquisition of GXS in January of 2014- GXS’s acquisition of RollStream in March 2011- GXS’s $300M acquisition of Inovis in June 2010- GXS issuance of $785M in public bonds as part of the Inovis transaction in June 2010- GXS divestiture of Global Product Catalogue assets to InterTrade (now part of Mediagrif)Corporate Strategy Projects- Assisted with commercial product analyses and business case building across GXS’ SaaS portfolio including e-Invoicing, e-Catalogue and data pool products- Assisted with analyses and creation of several business case projects across GXS’s strategic industry verticals and segments including Retail, Healthcare, Financial Services, and Data Analytics - Undertook various other strategic projects aimed at reducing costs and driving revenue

Analyzed companies, performed financial modeling and valuations, and assisted with marketing and client projects; worked on sell-side and buy-side M&A deals in the Education and Education Technology sectors within the U.S. Assisted with the following deals:- Leeds Equity’s acquisition of Ex Libris, a portfolio company of Francisco Partners- Rockbridge Growth Equity’s acquisition of Northcentral University
