One of my primary responsibilities is to help build and operate our customized in-house Kubernetes clusters running in AWS. I spend a lot of time improving observability of our fleet of microservices, helping to make significant progress in a relatively short amount of time. I co-founded the Incident Response practice, which is responsible for teaching engineers how to respond to incidents and learn from system failure.

I lead efforts to speed up release cadence by automating cluster orchestration. I helped shape the technical direction of the group by being an active member of the Technical Architecture Review Board. In addition to speeding up release cycles, I improved observability of our microservice architecture, took ownership of incident response, and introduced Docker containers into the infrastructure.

Primary developer for a highly customized e-commerce platform. I worked in all layers of our software stack, from tuning the Linux kernel and MySQL for performance to optimizing application-level cache access patterns and creating accessible and functional user interfaces. I was also responsible for creating new reporting and automation features for a legacy ERP system.

Developed automated software testing infrastructure to support efficiency gains within the Software Quality Assurance organization. Created a software interface for remotely managing and interacting with test hardware. Used agile methods to work as a team on several projects, including a Django web application to manage infrastructure resources, creating and maintaining automated daily software builds, and expanding automated end-to-end test coverage.
