Building highly scalable data linkage pipelines involving datasets with billions of records for clients across government and in the wider research community. My work is a combination of data engineering, coding and mathematics. I have a particular focus on developing refined statistical measures of bias and noise in linked datasets.

Designing and running workshop courses for Fine Art and Photography students at Camberwell Art College focused on coding, machine learning and physical computing.

Devised and delivered a range of courses in the Business & Technology department. I ran courses on Python, C++, C# and SQL, a suite of courses on data analytics and a Creative Computing offering including Unity 3D, openFrameworks, Blender and Processing. I also developed a somewhat non-traditional mathematics sequence that I still occasionally run.Prior to this I co-created and led an innovative programme of courses on mathematics in the Humanities Department. Term-long courses cover such topics as calculus, group theory, topology, linear algebra, infinity, space, time, probability and general philosophy of maths. I've also taught courses on the philosophy of music, alchemy, the Baroque and the fiction of Borges.

Founder of the Fine Art Maths Centre (FAMC), a unique project bringing mathematics education and support to one of the world's top art schools through a blend of individual tuition and practice-led courses in Euclidean geometry, projective geometry and perspective, coding with Processing, infinity and non-Euclidean geometry & topology. We have also offered a combination of these topics to the public in association with CSM Short Courses. FAMC is currently extending its offer into the Architecture, Product Design and Foundation programmes.

Designing and delivering courses on geometry and topology for the undergraduate degree programme.

Big Ideas Initiatives ran adult education events that were free or low-cost and open to the public. They included monthly talks from academics and experts, a social theory reading group, a series of film screenings and a geometry group.

Provided additional maths seminars for business studies undergraduates. Topics covered included probability, game theory and some financial maths (discounting, NPV, corporate valuation, betas etc).

Designed and taught a short music course for adult learners.

Technologist working on front-to-back-office systems for a global equities derivatives business and its supporting functions. Worked on systems responsible for trade capture, P&L, confirms, payments, reconciliation, regulatory reporting etc. Full product lifecycle from design through implementation, rollout, production support and decommissioning. Technologies included Java, C++, web (HTML, Perl CGI, J2EE with JSP and javabeans), Sybase SQL and stored procedures, FPML, Tib Rendezvous etc running on Solaris, Linux and Windows.

Fourth employee at BFTL (now Linedata), a dot-com startup that built software for hedge funds. Wrote software in Oracle PL-SQL, Java, C++, Visual Basic and web technologies (HTML, Javascript etc). Spent significant time on-site with clients and prospective clients gathering requirements, installing new systems, building prototypes and fixing issues. Key developer on flagship products such as the FIX application OrderManager and real-time risk system PositionManager, which more than a decade later remain in use in some of the largest hedge funds in the world.

Wrote software systems to improve the administrative running of two different departments. Also carried out extremely varied duties that included legal research, drafting documents and participating closely in the setup and running of an NVQ awarding body.

Tutor on the course "Language in Journalism" covering various aspects of the linguistics and semiotics of contemporary print and broadcast journalism.

Tutor on undergraduate courses in both the English Literature and Philosophy departments.
