SmartGrid Consultant by day, full-stack developer by night. Strange combo, isn't?In my day job, I have more than 30 years of experience in consulting and providing solutions to the electric power industry focusing mainly in information technologies used to support grid operations such as SCADA/EMS/DMS. I have worked both on the vendor side and on the utility side.I provide consutling services in the area of SCADA/EMS/DMS/GMS assessments and procurement. I have conducted studies and provided assistance to help numerous clients in the procurement of new control centers as well as the upgrade or replacement of existing systems. I have worked with clients such as FortisBC, Newfoundland & Labrador Hydro, Eversource, National Grid US, Central Hudson, Hydro-Québec, Great Lakes Power, NBSO, United Iluminating, Fortis Ontario, BC Hydro, Manitoba Hydro, PG&E Hydro, GECOL (Libya), Gaz Métro and many others. Most of these clients engagements were via TRC Companies (Quatric), Accenture (Bridge Energy) and Utilicase (Interpro).See the Projects section for details.When at CAE Electronics (now part of GE Digital Energy), I participated in design of solutions, played a significant role in sales support, have coordinated and put together EMS and DMS solutions for many electrical utilities.What about my night job?As a hobby, I developed enofily.com, a wine tasting assistant which I had the objective to commercialize. Although it did not happen, I rediscover the joy of software development from the early years on my career. Backend server, frontend browser, mobile app using MySQL, PHP/Laminas, ReactJS and React Native and so on. So maybe it's time to swtich my night job for my day job...
