The past 5+ years I have held a variety of positions that range from designing, building, and testing an alternative fuel furnace, requiring me to learn how to weld, operate a forklift, use steel fabrication tools, and data collection software; to broad collaboration through many levels of a matrix organization to ensure contractual compliance.Continuously learning and always asking questions have led me down the path of supply chain operations, where I have come to respect the challenges companies face with supply planning and supply issues that have global supply operations. In order to compliment my Bachelors of Science education, I had the opportunity to earn a Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) through APICS. Topics covered include: lean manufacturing, materials management, setting safety stock levels, setting the appropriate inventory targets for desired customer service levels, and performing inventory reduction.I also have come to enjoy Business Analyst work. As my career advanced, I discovered that I enjoyed and wanted to understand how to use and get the most out of the many software packages and programs that a company pays to use. This led me to learn the basics about object based programming within Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to write a custom MS Excel tool that matches the best available supply with demand.
