I joined BMSL to establish a Construction - Trades & Labour division for the West Midlands in 2007.The company had no presence in the Midlands except as a good provider of M&E services so the challenge was hard.This is something I enjoyed then and very much so enjoy today. After being with one company for 7 years and starting afresh I soon realised that most of the new clients I wanted to work with operated PSL's.I knew I could offer these companies a good and quite possibly better service if given the opportunity.Over time and with perseverance the door opened to some of these clients and they remain customers to this day.The main services I supply are still M&E, Construction and quite significantly Total FM.FM has proven the biggest logistical challenge as some of my clients operate Nationally and in remote areas, however when implementing the same values & procedures as I have for construction and M&E the service and results are the same. I was given an opportunity to start my career in recruitment by Now 14 years ago for which I am grateful.Following a good in house and residential training program I was let loose on real clients.It was here that I quickly learned the values of providing that open and honest personal service to my customers. Whilst they need the staff today they would often wait the extra day for the right operative. A quick buck made hear and there is not good business. Relationship building was the key.I built and maintained good working partnerships in the industry through constant evaluation and personal improvement. I learnt a great deal from successful recruiters within the company but after 7 years I decided I needed to take the next step.In 2007 BMSL offered me the opportunity to set up Construction and Facilities Management services in the Birmingham location.

After my time in the Royal Navy and my plans of emigrating changed I did what a lot of ex-forces people initially do - I joined Sabrewatch and provided security services at various locations in the UK.During this time I applied for recruitment trainee positions as during my last 6 months in the Navy I worked in the Armed Forces careers office and enjoyed the experience.

Before I left School I decided to follow the family tradition of Public / Armed Services.I visited many places and in my last 2.5 years spent a long time involved with the conflict in the former Republic of Yugoslavia.The Royal Navy taught me many disciplines and set me up for my working life outside of the forces.
