Developed and standardized new elements of Cloudability's FinOps professional services offerings. Fulfilled the dream of a lifetime by sailing a 42 foot yacht, primarily alone ("single-handed"​), from Maryland to Great Exuma Island in the Bahamas. After completing a 2.5 year restoration of the yacht in early fall, I began the voyage on October 21, 2016. During the next three months I overcame rough weather, a blown sail and several near-groundings to arrive safely in Georgetown, Great Exuma Island on January 18, 2017. Upon reaching Georgetown I had captained the yacht 1,460 nautical miles over the course of 35 individual voyage legs, with over 2/3 of the distance covered single-handed. Sailing the yacht back to her new home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida added an additional 314 miles for a voyage total of 1,774 miles.

Mid Atlantic Cyber Security was formed in 2016 as a subsidiary of Mid Atlantic Control Systems to validate the market prospects of a new intrusion prevention device and to build a distribution business for it upon a successful validation. As Managing Director, I created a comprehensive penetration testing lab and a custom Security and Information Event Management (SIEM) platform to (i) validate the product's functionality and (ii) provide a product demonstration platform for business development purposes. My testing showed that the product had considerable potential but needed further development before the distribution business could be built around it.

Zenoss is a provider of open source application, server, and network management software. At Zenoss I built, from the ground up, a new "Customer Enablement" department responsible for providing customer training and supplementary product documentation. During my tenure at Zenoss I was able to recruit, train and manage a complete Enablement team, to grow training volumes by over seven-fold, and to globalize Zenoss training by migrating the training infrastructure from Zenoss-hosted servers to Amazon Web Services (AWS). As part of the AWS migration, I developed a full suite of automation that allowed Zenoss to clone its complete training infrastructure to any region of the world as needed to meet the needs of an increasingly global customer base.

President and founder of HD IT Services, a provider of IT consulting and infrastructure support services for small business. At HD IT Services I grew a customer base from zero to over 300 business and residential customers while developing Linux-based Software As a Service (SAAS) products for disaster recovery backup and security / web traffic optimization. The business was successfully sold to a competitor in 2011.

Annapolis Technologies was an innovator in the conversion of paper records to digital format with operations in India and Baltimore, Maryland. I was hired as a consultant to generate pro-forma financial statements for a capital raise shortly before I was scheduled to attend business school. After identifying the need for significant improvements to the company's accounting and finance infrastructure, I was asked to join as interim CFO to complete an overhaul before leaving for business school in the Fall of 2003.
