Lead the improvement and implementation of project management processes with the development team.

After Crown & Caliber was acquired, I decided to spend a year working on a side project of selling bamboo products online. I utilized all of my skills that I have developed over the years as a product manager to do market research, develop physical products, develop and manage my sites, create digital ad campaigns across multiple social media platforms and utilize third party integration software to manage my inventory and fulfillment.

I was promoted to Director of Product Management to assist with the merger and transition with HODINKEE. I led an expanded team of over 20 agile product managers and developers who were in charge of the platforms that Crown & Caliber and HODINKEE utilized to buy and sell luxury new/pre-owned watches as well as provide industry leading luxury watch content and community. The technology we developed at C&C was key in securing the HODINKEE acquisition.

As C&C grew I was promoted to Director of Product & Technology and was in charge of helping the company scale and improve efficiencies through technology. I managed a team of over 15 local developers, overseas developers, QA, support and project management. I collaborated with the product team and developers to create world-class custom technology in the luxury watch industry. Working directly with the C-Suite, my team and I created the first automated pre-owned luxury watch quote system that was both B2B and B2C.

I was a co-founder at Kanga, an app-based local delivery service. I was in charge of the development team for the MVP, helped architect the technology,hired and managed the development talent and was in charge of maintaining improvements and innovating the application as Kanga evolved from a B2C platform to a B2B platform. I also assisted with any digital marketing campaigns to spread the word about Kanga and daily operations.Technologies managed: Ruby on Rails, Java, Javascript, XCode, Apache Cordova, Phonegap, AWS, MySQL

I established Scout's first internal digital team with the CTO of the company. I helped develop processes to manage the fledgling digital team, hired project managers and developers and led the project management team. I was personally in charge of digital projects ranging from packaged goods companies to pharmaceuticals. I wireframed, helped architect and led development of iPad and phone applications, websites and online games. I tracked all analytics and reported metrics directly to clients for all of my digital projects. I established and managed SEO and created SEM campaigns for multiple clients. I was in charge of weekly bulk marketing emails to clients subscriber lists.

AirTight Design was my first experience as a project manager and I was also their first project manager. Using the organization skills I learned running my own business, I worked directly with clients to plan and execute their digital projects. I created the initial project management processes that AirTight still largely utilize to this day. I directed a development team of 5 PHP developers and managed the development of dozens of web projects. I also assisted with updates to websites, coding email templates, implementing search engine optimization, developing pay-per-click campaigns and reporting analytics to clients.

After college, I took the skills I learned in business and school to start my own web design business. Along with one developer, I helped design, code and manage over a dozen web projects. I was responsible for interfacing with the client, marketing the company and finding new leads to keep the business going.

During my time running Rich and Clever Web Services, I had a side project assisting a startup get off the ground. I assisted the owner in the initial brainstorming process for marketing his new business. I led the initial setup of Google Analytics and helped to analyze the results of various marketing campaigns. I coordinated with developers to create the first beta version of the site. JackThreads went on to be a successful startup and was sold to Thrillist.

Working at Bamboo Headquarters was my introduction to becoming an entrepreneur. I worked directly with the owner of the company to establish his first website, set up his office computers and network and create a digital inventory management system using Microsoft Access and Excel. As I became more experienced, my responsibilities included creating an ecommerce system to sell live plants online. I became familiar with pay-per-click advertising, search engine optimization and web development to increase Bamboo Headquarters’ sales. I created a wholesale website for landscape designers and architects to view our entire inventory and receive immediate pricing for large jobs. I helped in the nursery with sales, packaging, shipping and inventory control.I also edited the national publication for the American Bamboo Society and was in charge of collecting advertising collateral for the wholesale green industry publication Plant Search.
