Now known as General Dynamics Information Technology, this company is a leading global provider of information management and business process outsourcing services to government, commercial, education and healthcare organizations.Full profit and loss responsibility for a business unit with over $40M in annual revenue. Responsible for eight separate programs under contract to the US Federal Government, through which Pearson was required to deliver integrated solutions and services to deliver benefits and services to the public. On special assignment to the CEO of Pearson Education, I led a twelve-month recovery, redesign, and product launch for a major educational application service. Responsible for business planning, development, and oversight of all sales, marketing, software development, operations, support, and service for the launch of this product. I achieved all objectives set by Pearson’s executive management.Managed Pearson Government Solution’s engineering organization, consisting of 250 engineers distributed between eight functional departments across four sites. I participated in annual strategic planning, and served as member of the Pearson Government Solutions Leadership Team as the organization grew dramatically from $68M in revenue in 1998 to $250M in revenue in 2001. Under my direction, we achieved Level 2 rating as defined by Software Engineering Institute’s Capability Maturity Model in June 1999, and Level 3 rating in June 2001.
