Routine metallurgical technician tasks including:-Sample preparation - Sample receipt, compositing, dry/wet screening, splitting-Gravity - Knelson/Falcon concentration, Mozley shaking table-Size reduction - Crushing, milling, grind size establishment, pulverising-Comminution - Bond ball and rod work index, abrasion index, JK/SMC drop weight-Gold leaching - Bottle roll, vat/agitated, column and CIL pilot plant-Filtration - Pressure and vacuum filtration for solid/liquid separation-Physical testing - Bulk density, specific gravity, drop tower for materials handling

-Daily, weekly and monthly production reporting duties-Metallurgical control of the solvent extraction, precipitation and drying areas-Management of tertiary amine concentration with pregnant leach solution grade fluctuations-Management of crud in the extraction circuit and ammonium diuranate solids in the stripping circuit by manual removal and pH control-Solvent extraction and precipitation testwork to set circuit parameters-Investigation of process upset events including loss of pH control in stripping leading to ammonium diuranate precipitation

Control and optimisation of the uranium SX, precipitation and product handling process to produce yellowcake as uranium peroxide. Maintaining stable operation through keeping the process variables within control limits and optimising the circuit through metallurgical testwork initiatives.The solvent extraction circuit is unique in that the Honeymoon operation is the only primary producer using a synergistic extractant of Alamine 336 and D2EHPA. Issues with chlorides and iron make the optimisation of the circuit a day to day challenge.
