Richard Lyon is a business development specialist and entrepreneur in the industrial rope access and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle sectors. He is currently contracted by Specialised Access Solutions Limited in Liverpool and is also actively involved in Aerial Inspection Robotics, a business in which he has an interest.Specialised Access Solutions is relatively new to the industrial rope access sector. Previously a construction company they moved into the rope access world five years ago following the successful delivery of a large roofing contract on the Manchester GMEX which involved them putting personnel through IRATA training. Since then they have been busy almost constantly with back to back rope access contracts in addition to the ground based construction work that they do. Richard's role with SAS is to help steer the company forward into vertical markets that suit its strengths and to develop and implement a growth plan for the next three years.Richard also has an interest in Aerial Inspection Robotics Limited; a company specialising in the application of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle technology to the industrial inspection sector. This exciting, high-tech company operates at the cutting edge of developments in the UAV industry and is working with various large clients in sectors such as wind energy, petrochemical, and fossil fuel power generation. Richard's role with AIR is to help get the company up an running in this exciting new sector.Richard also works in export sales and has an active interest in promoting renewable fuel technologies into agricultural economies in East Africa.
