About Rich Nockels

Rich has been provided with great opportunities throughout his career. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, he joined Motorola but not right into a job, but a 6-month training class with 40 others from universities across the US. This experience led to great relationships and friendships and grew Rich personally and technically. This journey grew as he transitioned to a career at Intel. Rich worked with equipment suppliers worldwide, specifically in Japan, Ireland, and Israel. More than the work experience, Rich valued the insights into the diverse cultures he was exposed to. To this day, he is passionate about learning about new cultures worldwide. Rich found his true passion when he had an opportunity to work in the marketing group at Intel. Not only did he expand his technology expertise in semiconductors, but he realized his passion for marketing technology solutions; in an easy-to-understand value proposition-based approach. Rich enjoyed working with Intel OEMs, partners, and sales teams by adding value to the sales teams and end customers. After a long and enjoyable career at Intel, Rich took his Intel learnings to Insight, a technology channel company where he worked with Intel and Microsoft to drive hardware and software sales to thousands of end customers. This part of Rich’s journey gave him a deep insight into the workings of channel/distribution partners.The last few legs of Rich’s career allowed him to work for a startup, IOTech Systems, where he drove marketing and business development operations in the US for a UK-based company. The learnings, interactions, and IoT software technology learnings were priceless. Rich transitioned from IOTech to Calix, a broadband service provider OEM where he was the senior product marketing manager for home Wi-Fi gateways. He enjoyed working with various small broadband service provider customers and interacting with a fantastic field sales team and technology learnings from a seasoned engineering team. He has been recognized for effectively breaking down technical requirements for end customers and leading product, field, and partner marketing teams.
