Rich is a significantly tenured commercial real estate deal transactor, manager, and group head with substantial experience in capital markets, asset management, special servicing, and portfolio management. Currently, Rich is SVP with Atlanta-based Groundfloor, the first real estate lending marketplace open to non-accredited investors. His current responsibilities include sourcing capital to expand lending opportunities, serving as the company's joint venture representative, and advising on new products. Prior responsibilities included chairing the Investment Committee, developing new products, and generating strategic partnerships to grow and expand the business. Previously, he was the head of all lending operations, including originations, underwriting and closing, asset management and capital markets. Rich’s previous experience includes an over 27-year commercial real estate career with Prudential's commercial real estate investment unit. Rich's last assignment was as head of Prudential Mortgage Capital Company's (PMCC) Secondary Markets group. Rich started the group from scratch, eventually ramping up deal volume to ~$1B in 2.5 years. Prior to that assignment, he led PMCC's Special Servicing unit for over a decade. During that period the group earned its Special Servicer rating, expanded its portfolio to include Life Company, Agency, CMBS, and third-party accounts. Rich's management experience includes scaling staff and office count through multiple cycles and integrating acquisition portfolios. Earlier roles included assignments in equity asset management, portfolio management, and development. During his commercial real estate career he has been based in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Atlanta, allowing for the development of a broad and deep professional network.
