• Project plan and management for the Aero 8 project. When Richard started at Morgan the Aero 8 platform was challenged with a multitude of production, operations and warranty issues. Richard conducted a review and systematically resolved the issues, dramatically reducing the warranty cost and exceeding client expectations. The Aero 8 platform sold out.• Richard was project management lead for the Aero 8 hard top. Richard designed, developed and delivered the hard top to full production. The hard top was manufactured from a carbon fibre composite, the first of its kind for Morgan Motor Company.• Richard again was project lead for the Morgan EV3. This was Morgan’s first foray into electrifying their vehicles. From concept to building a first off prototype, the EV3 was a ground-breaking step for Morgan into the future.• Part of a team of engineers responsible for a new platform chassis design to see Morgan go from steel ladder chassis to an aluminium bonded platform. Richard played a crucial part in supporting the multi-disciplined project team in achieving their targets. This platform will enable Morgan to strive into the future and be a basis for which all their new vehicle platforms will be derived from.• Design and develop a new hard top for the Plus 6 vehicle platform.• Using kinematics, designed and developed a new easy folding hood system to replace the current hood and fold down process.

• Won an exclusive contract with JCB to supply a new door handle and hinge. The unique design solved some long-standing issues for JCB.• Created a bespoke design for Aggreko generators. Initially a cold call, the design solved a consistent problem and was within their budget. Aggreko subsequentially placed orders for the product.

• Project managed, documented an investigation into manufacturing and assembly issues with a new product line, the Defender Door Lock.• Responsible for project management planning, documentation and budgeting, Richard led a cost down design and development programme on the standard hinge range. Richard was hands-on and spotted several opportunities on his own initiative, deriving ways of saving time on the product assembly using lean methodologies. The improvements were documented and validated to the management team to highlight the potential savings. The reduced assembly time with a reduced BOM cost delivered a substantial cost saving exceeding the targets set.• Creating testing plans and rigs to ensure products are acceptable to BS Standards and ensuring the process in documented, supporting the test engineer where required.
