RISE is a media company that works directly with brands and produces original content. Special focus on commercials, live streaming and unscripted. We work directly with other media companies, Universities, agencies and brands- and help them unlock opportunities through video and streaming.

Under my leadership, we built and sustained a news operation for the first time in many years at WVUA-FM in Tuscaloosa, AL. Led and organized a team of roughly 20 reporters who are at various levels of skill and experience. I also structured story development and assignments and trained reporters in the basics of electronic news gathering.I also hosted a daily news magazine show called, "Capstone News Now". In that hour and a half program, we played the best news packages (stories) from our reporters, hosted round table discussions, and also delved into issues that matter on campus, and around the state, nation and world. I also created and facilitated the "Breaking the Gridlock" series. In a monthly one hour debate and negotiation period done in the model of the Munk debates, a ever changing panel of UA student leaders, faculty, community and political stakeholders work on a given topic and work towards consensus. We did debates/events for the following topics: -Crime and Gun Violence in America-How to reform the NCAA and College Athletics-Education Reform and Student Loans-Race on Campus 50 years after the "Stand"-Sorority SegregationI also spearheaded the development of a content sharing program with Alabama Public Radio. This exciting and unique program allowed some of our best work to be showcased on a state wide National Public Radio affiliate service.

In August of 2011, I began writing for the Crimson White, the official newspaper of the University of Alabama. I wrote my first article for the CW before I attended my first class. (A sign of things to come). I was promoted to assistant news editor and served in that role with the paper for a semester before leaving to launch the radio division at the campus radio station. I continued to write weekly columns about politics and policy until graduation.

Worked as a summer writer for the Miami New Times online. Wrote over 30 pieces, took photos for publication and learned about web based journalism. Most of my articles were about cultural trends, events or political issues.

I was the play by play man for the Alabama gymnastics team. We broadcast both the home and away meets on WVUA 90.7 the Capstone. I broadcasted both the 2012 SEC Championship and the National Championship, which Alabama won. Hosted pre and post meet shows. I like to think that if you can call gymnastics on the radio, then you can do just about anything. I also broadcast women's basketball, volleyball and softball on radio and TV.

Over the summer of 2013, I worked in the Miami-Dade County jail aiding in providing legal representation to poor and indigent clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges.I interviewed incarcerated clients for the benefit of overworked public defenders. I also aided in the misdemeanor and felony bond hearings, where freshly arrested people attended their first appearance.

Over the summer of 2012, I worked in the Democratic National Committee's Media Center, which is at the heart of mass media production for the national party.I helped facilitate television live shots with members of Congress, edited footage and audio for various campaign related projects and aided in the production of campaign videos at the White House with President Barack Obama. I also got to walk by the Watergate file cabinets each day, which was pretty cool.

In February of 2010, I joined the Rudy Moise Campaign for Congress as a volunteer. Dr. Moise was running for Congress in District 17 which composes the area directly north of the city of Miami, Florida. By the summer of 2010, I worked my way up to a paid position and ended up running field operations for a portion of the district in Broward County. In that capacity, I helped organize and execute door to door canvasses and phone banks to likely voters. I also attended fundraisers and meet and greets with the candidate and was additionally charged with reaching out to young voters. I also spoke on behalf of the campaign as a surrogate at local political events.
