Since 2006 has grown a private practice offering Strengths Based Development, cultural competency, and peer counseling; offers team, group and/or individual consulting on a sliding-scale fee. In 2010, expanded practice to include life coaching and mentoring, developed program covering personality development and career counseling/consulting. Modified and developed a motivational program “yelô” that utilizes the Myers-Briggs Personality Assessment and the Gallup StrengthFinder to encourage individuals to find their unique strengths and talents. Highly adept in employing both instruments within work and personal environments. Clients include: UCSB, InterVarsity, Westmont, The Turner Foundation, Free Methodist Denomination, and multiple faith communities spanning multiple faith traditions (e.g., Muslim, Jewish, and Christian communities)

Gathered, led, and trained a group of 20 individuals to create the Westside Initiative, a faith-based neighborhood-level community development initiative to support households at risk of homelessness in the lower Westside of Santa Barbara. In October 2016, founded Pueblo Free Methodist Church, a faith community focused on neighborhood-level community development. Supervised, trained, and raised up leaders, with a focus on community development and cultural competency. Created training manuals, prep work, and teaching on community development and cultural competency learning cohorts. Each member leaves with the cultural competency, leadership skills, and de-escalation skills to act as an active member or leader in a developing community.

Managed 7 state and countywide grants totaling ~$430k for the implementation of drug and alcohol prevention programs in all of the southern SB county Jr. High and High Schools. Partnered with local agencies and student programs to develop a student-led conference, “rispekt” with over 350+ students from San Luis Obispo to San Diego for leadership development and drug and alcohol prevention and advocacy. Responsible for finding and securing funding sources (applied and was awarded a $20k state grant, acquired $5k from the SB County Office of Education), building up and training student leaders to run workshops at the conference, securing a location, catering, developing a system for marketing, registration process, and appointing an interactive, relatable keynote speaker. Sought out new funding sources and training opportunities in prevention science and youth development.
