Primary tasks involved developing software for automated software installation and configuration.• Developed a web-based, template-driven front end for the purpose of setting up parameters for an automated jumpstart of SUN servers running Solaris 2.6, 7, 8 and 9. The system can completely configure builds in 8 locations located across the globe.• Developed the backend scripts and "engine" to install the OS, packages and configuration based on the input from the web-enabled system described previously.• Developed automated system for setup of a Red Hat OS installation using PXE/DHCP/kickstart. Performed a wide variety of tasks while supporting NASA's Earth Observation System. Accomplishments / responsibilities include: * C++ development and maintenance in a multi-platform Unix environment using Rogue Wave Tools.h, DB Tools.h, Sybase, HP OpenView, Remedy and ClearCase. Projects worked on include a WWW interface for trouble ticket submission into Remedy, customizations to HP OpenView, and APIs for a user registration / order tracking system.• Implemented an enterprise-wide system performance monitoring solution using Tivoli 3.6. Solution was delivered to 8 sites consisting of approximately 35 machines each. Configuration was made via Perl and shell scripts to ensure uniformity and accuracy.• Created a tool to monitor the status of custom daemons running at each remote site and performance data for each host. A graphical interface was provided to view memory growth of custom code to determine memory leaks.
