Working as Agile Scrum Master on a Host Card for our new product platform, I was responsible for all of the DDR3 interface (both discrete chips and DIMM) and multi gigabit serial communication (both inter FPGA and backplane based) using a mixture of industry standard and proprietary protocols. Responsible for release builds, I created database snapshots.

As RTL lead on a succession of 'right first time' DVB-T and DVB-C demodulator ASICs I was responsible for the overall verification, prototype and revision control of the devices. As well as translating large blocks from C and MATLAB models to cycle accurate VHDL I also performed SDF annotated simulations prior to tape out and brought up the reference.

I updated the video output stage of the processor to support an Alpha Blending function and to insert SMPTE synchronisation codes into the blanking regions of the output image. I also started on our own mixed language (Verilog and C++) co-simulation tool using the Verilog PLI.(Verilog, C, ModelSim, Synopsys DC)

Working on the SAA55xx range to TV microcontrollers, I was responsible for the 8051 core integration, customisation and validation in both simulation and FPGA prototype. Progressing to the device level, I wrote 8051 assembly code to test the processor core and analogue peripherals as well as insert/balance the scan chains and made code changes to increase.
