As a company stakeholder and Independent Consultant, I drive the implementation of emerging architecture for VC and startup ventures by creating affordable global enterprise-class architecture and streamlined DevOps solutions. It’s my goal to help companies increase their organizational agility, modernize operations, and improve processes through secure, pragmatic, dynamic, and auditable technical solutions. As such, I manage projects in data center modeling, governance, compliance, virtualization, SDLC framework development, domain modeling, and system center architecture.

As a member of the consulting team, I provide C-level business and technical architecture guidance and services to clients of all sizes, from multinational organizations to local small businesses. On a contract basis, I deliver strategic perspectives and technical innovation to drive continuous improvement, implement value-rich solutions, and develop deep technical architecture. My key areas of focus are customer-centered design, cloud services, and data science.

Handling several improvement initiatives for continuous delivery, I developed strategy and built architecture to spearhead the transition to a DevOps culture. The result of these efforts was an improvement to business agility in a variety of areas (LOB, apps, and data center). Additionally, I focused on improving the customer experience through digital transformation including the creation of a suite of enterprise-class solutions and pipeline deliverables. In a concurrent contract position, I am implementing DevOps processes in the heavily regulated insurance industry. Using expertise in both operational transformation and technical architecture, I focus on applying simplification strategies to improve the customer experience for mobile apps and cloud-based solutions. In this position, I delivered value-based enterprise architecture services to top-tier customers on a global scale. As such, I provided consulting services to CTOs, CIOs, and executive teams at Fortune 1000s and utility companies as well as for governmental operations and the education sector. To help companies with their IT strategy, I considered budget requirements, scalability, and workforce optimization while planning cloud migrations, handling data center modeling, providing BI analysis, and improving the customer experience.

As a Worldwide Director, I successfully spearheaded innovations to Microsoft’s enterprise architecture to increase business agility and efficiency. During this time, I participated in the co-development of an innovative cloud optimization model that was deployed across the Product, Marketing, and Services divisions. (This solution is still in use today.) Ultimately, I was instrumental in integrating disruptive technologies while working with Cloud, BI, Social, Mobility, CoIT, and Productivity teams. Additionally, I developed intellectual property for strategic corporate growth and drove the development of overall global IP products while improving quality, content, and governance.

To improve both operations management and processes, I implemented a lean ops solution that was holistic, secure, scalable, and repeatable. To support CAA’s data center and production LOB, I focused on developing a culture of continuous improvement. Additionally, I led initiatives for dynamic IT, productivity, and platforms while overseeing improvements to enterprise and systems architecture.

After WaMu was acquired by Chase, I participated in the transition by establishing the overall vision for global operations including a partnership with Microsoft to drive early adoption of their management platform. In this position, I implemented a technical lifecycle-centered operations management solution while handling the direction of eCommerce systems, teams, logistics, resource planning, and a $26M annual operational budget. Additionally, I was instrumental in the design and implementation of new SOA while driving digital transformation and overseeing the development of a $36M production data center.

In this role, I was responsible for the overall direction and vision of operational initiatives and architecture to modernize customer facing services, improve DevOps processes, and reduce costs. As such, I saved the company $1.25M annually by optimizing workflows while maximizing budgets and implementing careful resource planning measures. I successfully built highly productive technical teams and achieved a top-5 industry ranking by delivering 99.85% website availability. Additionally, I created a one-button system to allow daily offshore 24x7x365 deployment in all environments.

As a member of the Dynamic Systems Initiative, I developed automation solutions while maximizing a $24M budget and overseeing the creation of a $28M production lab. Additionally, I reduced costs by developing architecture for virtualizing data centers while simplifying distributed systems and driving improvements to cloud security. In this leadership role, I built the System Engineering and Coverage teams from scratch, developed SOPs, supervised technical cross-team efforts, and established a results-oriented culture. As the technical QA gatekeeper, I ensured enterprise quality across production data centers and lab environments. Additionally, I managed the online services infrastructure and created a multi-language development lab.
