Leading technical design of medium to large projects, client liaison

Lead structural designer for 5 components of stations on the North West Rail Link works. Liaising closely with the architects and wider design team we are producing superb functional and aesthetic structures as part of this $8.3bn investment into infrastructure. Design items include long span (up to 48m) lightweight canopies and viaduct type stations.I am working with our Adelaide office on the concept design of a new urban private hospital facility. My role includes providing advice and concept designs, drawing on my previous health experience, for this new structure. Our aim is to work with the wider design team to set a functional and pragmatic design while maintaining a high aesthetic quality for this medium rise hospital structure.Project manager and structural design lead for Wagga Wagga Base Hospital, a $365m (approx) new acute facility with Health Infrastructure NSW. Stage 2 of the design is on site nearing completion which includes the main acute facility, which has been designed to HI guidelines for vibration as well as design to resist seismic actions to IL4.Project manager for all Mott MacDonald work at Sydney Airport including the recently completed Pier A extension at the domestic airport, various fixed link upgrades to enable operation of code F aircraft and an associated technically challenging lounge extension currently under design.Project manager and lead structural engineer for new Sciences Teaching facility at the University of Wollongong featuring a 16.8m internal span with tight vibration control criteria for use of sensitive optical equipment.Main designer for multiple large scale portal frame structures for the Australian Department of Defence at two sites which are currently under construction. Highly efficient designs and minimising wastage in steel off cuts were critical on this project.

Worked during a summer university break in the bridges team.During my tenure I undertook inspection of existing bridge structures and prepared specifications for further survey works where required, worked on a number of footbridge designs the proposed A1-M1 link road and designed a platform extension for an existing railway station.
