Leader of the Quality Department for the division, including, Supplier Quality, Advanced Quality, ISO management and Production Quality.Key Achievements:Introduced the use of Design/Process Failure Mode and Effects (D/PFMEA) process within the Product Development process to proactively reduce or eliminate Failure Mode impacts to the design and manufacturing of our products.Overhauled our Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) so that our group as well as the supply base was evaluating the quality management of the entire production process vs evaluating first off parts.Increased total PPAP approval from roughly 25% to 100% at the launch of new products.Strengthened the communication and partnership of the design and manufacturing groups through techniques like Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly (DFM and DFA) during the development of new products.Reduced the impact of supplier defects over a 3 year period, with a 65% reduction of suppliers over the 500 Parts per Million (PPM) threshold and a 55% increase of suppliers with a 0 PPM rating. Introduced a Supplier Improvement Process (SIP) that focused on developing partnerships with our lowest performing suppliers and assisted in developing their Quality Management Systems (QMS) into a proactive process.Introduced Layered Process Auditing within the manufacturing plant that allowed us to successfully reduce our Production Auditor numbers in half (from 22 to 11). During that time total Defects per Million (DPM) decreased from 40 to below 25.Introduced automated Statistical Process Control (SPC) of critical dimensioning within the fabrication department and electronic SPC within the assembly process.Successfully kept the department within budget during 2 years as manager.

Successfully launched six driver side inflator programs.Achieved implementation readiness approval from Ford Core Engineering for the future generation driver airbag inflator.Implemented the value engineering change converting a current inflator shell from stainless steel to carbon steel which resulted in a $360,000 component annual savings.
