  THE PARAGON RAGTIME ORCHESTRA is the world’s only professional ensemble specializing in the recreation of “America’s Original Music” – the exhilarating sounds of early Broadway, “silent” cinema, and vintage ballroom dance. Founded by Rick Benjamin at The Juilliard School in 1986, PRO has performed in hundreds of concert halls across 48 U.S. states and several countries overseas; major venues include including Lincoln Center, the Ravinia Festival, The Kennedy Center, and Chautauqua. The Orchestra has extensive discography and has played the soundtracks of many television shows and motion pictures. All of these activities are centered on Mr. Benjamin's renowned collection of American musical scores - 20,000 titles of rare orchestra and band sheet-music from the years 1850 to 1930.
