After 8+ years of leading IT at A&R Logistics (and 25 years of enterprise IT leadership) I've decided to step back and try my hand at retirement. I'll do some IT / infrastructure consulting work and perhaps look at running a few integration projects, but also reconnect with friends and family and see if I can get that golf handicap down to single digits! Wish me luck!So I realize at age 14 that I was passionate about technology, I then realized at age 17 that they pay you to do this stuff, and that the better you do it, the better they pay you, so I've spent the time since, living and breathing it. From offshore development to managing outsourced business processes to starting two technology consulting firms (in Lexington KY and Washington DC.) I worked long, hard and smart and was named CIO of a global, $2.4 billion dollar manufacturing company. I preformed this role for over 7 years, until we sold the company to Philips Electronics, a very good deal for the senior management team. I then signed on with a friends $2+ billion dollar enterprise software firm to lead a global CRM development and deployment effort. I built and led teams in North America, Europe and Asia. This was a lot of hard work, but a lot of fun and very satisfying. The project went live in Oct of 2008 and I decided it was time to explore new challenges. After the sale of our company, it was enlightening to be in a place where my primary driver was no longer money or titles, but the chance to build and work with a smart team of people doing meaningful, challenging work and having some fun at the same time.I live for this stuff, and the excitement that comes from seeing technology transform a business. I am passionate about the new technology in front of us.
