I work with the Community Health & Environmental Services Department Director and the managers and supervisors in the development and monitoring of the budget, community health needs assessment, grant development, strategic planning, program and grant evaluation, quality assurance and quality improvement activities, and other administrative functions necessary to ensure the successful operation of the department. This position provides administrative support to all programs within the department.

I served as a fiscal and management consultant to agencies and as a staff adviser to the County Administrator’s Office. I was assigned a number of County agencies and capital programs, and was responsible for coordinating and developing recommendations on resource allocation activities and issues throughout the year. In addition to development and administration of the $3+ billion annual budget, I worked on special projects. Examples of these projects include:* developing funding plans for capital improvement programs;* analyzing proposed service enhancements and service reductions;* preparing reports for the County Administrator and County Commission;* conducting fee studies and developing fee recommendations;* assessing the fiscal impact of County initiatives and ordinances and pending State and Federal legislation;* analyzing agency processes to identify opportunities to streamline and increase productivity;* assisting agencies in development and improvement of performance measures.

I managed the day-to-day operations of a town with a population of 1,000. This included:* oversight of the various City services;* development and administration of the City's annual budget:* review and revision of City statutes and codes;* grant writing and administration;* participation in intergovernmental organizations such as the North Dakota League of Cities.
