I opened my first Gym (with the help of two investors) Fit4Less in 2005. We kept investing, redecorating, putting in new concepts, new equipment and stayed ahead by implementing the latest trends. We rebranded the club in 2016 to New York Gym, moving from budget to premium... in 2019 we successfully sold the Gym to TrainMore. In 2007/ 2008 I opened a chain of Physiotherapy practices all around the Netherlands. In total we had 15 practices, but unfortunately we had to stop those activities in May 2012 at the ending of our rent period. Every location was situated within a fitness chain and they wanted to see us grow extensively- or leave. It became the last because we could not find the resources for growth. In June 2010 we opened a Lower Back Clinic in Amsterdam, as a follow up on the location in Rijssen. Unfortunately DorSano Amsterdam did not make it.... closed in 2014. The reason: constantly changing rules of the Government about how a ZBC (Zelfstandig Behandel Centrum) should perform and grow...2013 is the year that Smart Fit is born! Pay per visit: No contract, no notice period and a flexible debit amount... 9 gyms in total, hope to grow again post corona 👊🏻As of June 2023 the Smart Fit organisation is part of the ProFit Gym Group, owned by Rutger Brakel.
