Vp - Engineering And OperationsVtv, Llc 2011 - PresentMetairie, LaResponsible for using patented Diagnostic 3D Seismic Process (D3DSP) to generate oil and gas drilling prospects in the Permian Basin. - Oversee a WesternGeco (a Schlumberger subsidiary) 3D-land-seismic-data processing team, in reprocessing field-recorded 3D seismic survey data into a relative high-resolution acoustic impedance (AI, or a D3D-impedance) volume. Key QC steps (among ~15 others) were:- Develop Root-Mean-Square Interval Velocities (Vrms) from local check-shot surveys to be used as stacking velocities- Select the pre-stack initial mutes used to remove true shallow and far-trace noise- Approve/confirm survey location and trace samples before the final migration, and RUNSUM-inverted D3Dimp volumes are produced- Load the reprocessed D3D-Imp volume into IHS Kingdom and VoxelGeo (VG) for analysis- Research and load well control data (operational formation tops, perforation zones, oil & gas production data, well logs) into specific survey project- Consult with local geological experts, and gather regional maps and reports (and well/field production histories)- Calibrate the D3D impedance volume with the well control data, making polarity changes and bulk two-way-time (TWT) shifts, as appropriate- Choose (x,y,TWT) seed points from Kingdom to grow CIOs in VG and capture 3D images of the opaque-CIO in an otherwise transparent D3Dimp volume- Record the seed point specs (Inline, Xline, TWT, D3Dimp) and the CIO reservoir volumetric specs (Area, Volume, Min/Max Thickness) reported by VG for the user-defined detection impedance threshold, or cut-off- Construct: o CIO isopach maps (using a user-supplied, estimated reservoir interval velocity) o Top CIO structure maps (to identify fluid contacts, marked by down-dip limits conforming closely to a structural contour) o Arbitrary lines and time- and horizon-slices that tie key wells and show the up-dip trap, down-dip flat-bases, and the nearby producing/produced wells.
