Sherrill Contract Manufacturing's (SCM) primary strengths are making metal or plastic components to its customer's specifications and being an extension of their production capabilities. It has CNC machining capabilities as well as a wide array of fabrication capabilities. SCM provides its services to many industries, some of which include energy, construction, rail, commercial heating/cooling, food equipment manufacturers, textile, heavy truck/bus, and general industrial applications. SCM is the combination of two-companies - a 60+ year old machining company and a 40+ year old fabrication company.

Initially hired as consultant to assist with West Coast facility and was hired as a member of the executive team within 6-months to manage two manufacturing facilities, one in Washington State and the other in Illinois. Accomplishments include implementing changes in staff and operating goals at the Washington plant resulting in a significant change in its cost structure. Assisted with managing through a significant economic downturn while selling the company.

Key member of management team directing all manufacturing and sourcing operations for the company. Recruited and hired specifically to increase manufacturing efficiency. Introduced ‘lean manufacturing’ methods and new sourcing initiatives. Transformed a plant culture from internal focus to external focus regarding customer satisfaction. Tenure resulted in a successful sale of the company with a four-fold return over four years to the private equity owner, Weston Presidio.

Over this time period, served as Production and Inventory Control Manager in Noblesville, IN with the last 4-years as Plant Manager in Dyersburg, TN.
