I really enjoyed the nearly forty years of working in occupational safety/risk management consulting and the frequent travel to client operations that it required. Since retiring from Aon at the end of December 2015, I have worked as an Usher for the Schaumburg Boomers, an independent league baseball team, for seven years. This helps satisfy my lifelong obsession with our great American game. After moving to Del Webb Lincoln Prairie in Aurora/Naperville, I began my new summer job in 2024 as an Usher for the Kane County Cougars in Geneva, IL. I love the interactions with the fans, ballpark staff and players while getting paid to watch a baseball game!Prior to retirement, I coached my son’s Little League teams from t-ball until he played high school baseball. The highlight of my baseball journey has been attending games at 53 MLB ballparks (most have been replaced with a modern version) as well as several minor league and college games. My journey continues. The next MLB ballpark will be Globe Life Stadium in Arlington, home of the Texas Rangers.
