I work to ensure the OR has all necessary supplies and equipment to meet the needs of the surgeons operating on our patients. This role is constantly evolving. I'm currently involved in enhancing our supply chain method from paper ordering with no par levels, to a par based method controlled by handheld devices. Also, I'm working with Casechek to get a handle on vendor controlled inventory that is needed for cases, ensuring that the trays are brought in on time and removed after the case is over. I'm working with Trackcore to update our tissue/biologic tracking platform to adhere to Joint Commission's standards. I'm involved in the purchasing, receiving and distribution of all materials throughout the OR.

My role consisted of setting up OR suite for surgical cases. Positioning patients for surgery. Holding patients for spinals injections. Cleaning OR suites post surgery. I received a BLS certification to administer CPR if needed. The job is a fast paced position with the goal of keeping the ORs running and not stagnate. Turnover time is monitored in all OR settings and working to ensure that we meet that OR goal was critical.Worked along side nurses and CRNA's to ensure that they had the necessary supplies and equipment to do their jobs.

I was responsible to ensure that parts arrived correctly and undamaged from the many vendors we purchased from. I distributed the parts throughout the shop to expedite the repair process. I worked with our customers giving them constant updates throughout the repair process and fielded complaints about insurance/repair issues when necessary. Wrote estimates, cut PO's for parts, received parts in the system. Worked extensively with invoice matching and returns.
