Rick was the first Vice President of Human Resources for Universal Studios Orlando Resort and is currently a Florida employment and Human Resources attorney serving clients in Winter Garden, Clermont, Orlando and Greater Central Florida. Rick brings a wealth of some 30 years creative organizational insights and legal compliance strategies to resolving problematic workplace issues, whether challenging individual employees or companies. Rick has testified as an expert employment witness before the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights as well as in civil law matters in Florida and Washington, D.C,Rick provides legal counsel, litigation support in state and federal court as well as Human Resources consulting services to clients throughout Florida. Rick was the first Vice President of all Human Resources and Administrative functions for Universal Studios Resort operations in Orlando, Florida, during the groundbreakings and phased openings of Universal's world class attractions and resorts. As such, Rick was responsible for the development of the Human Resources, Legal, Risk Management, Management Training and Development and Employee Relations functions, among others.A leading public speaker in Central Florida on current employment legal compliance issues, Rick is an active member of the Florida and Nevada Bars and practices law in both federal and state courts. He has authored a number of articles on workplace legal compliance issues. Rick is also an active instructor at the University of Central Florida Office of Continuing Education for the Society of Human Resources Management ("SHRM") exam preparation classes. In this capacity, Rick teaches current U.S. employment and labor law to students sitting for SHRM professional certifications. Rick also serves on the Central Florida Employment Council Board of Directors, a proactive employers' group serving more than 800 companies within the Greater Central Florida region. Rick is also active within the greater Orlando Central Florida community as a proud member of the Rotary Club of Dr. Phillips which reaches out to persons in need within the Dr. Phillips community.
