During my four-year machinist apprenticeship, I developed and honed my skills operating large vertical boring mills, horizontal mills, planers, lathes, and grinding machines. I machined and manufactured components for rotating equipment for nuclear surface craft and submarines for the U.S. Navy. After serving as a machinist, I was promoted to a planner/estimator position where I played a key role in the overhaul of navy vessels.
