Team leader managing the U.S. Department of State\Passport Systems operations staff supporting infrastructure in distributed data center environments. Responsible for all aspects of managing the environment which consisted of multiple applications supporting Passport production for the U.S. Department of State (18 million a year) utilized by approximately 23,000 users worldwide.

Key role as a member of the U.S. Department of State\Passport Systems operations team supporting infrastructure in distributed data center environments. Responsible for deployment, configuration, maintenance, overall support, and upgrades of servers, NetApp storage, and various critical Passport applications. This environment supported a 23,000 user base worldwide and consisted of over 90 Windows 2000/2003 servers functioning as either SQL 2000/2005 database servers, application servers, or IIS5/6 web servers. The environment also included NetApp storage systems running Data ONTAP versions 6.x/7.x. configured to support SAN/NAS protocols such as iSCSI, FCP, and CIFS.

This was a split role providing network and systems support on the internal corporate network and on the U.S Department of State’s network to development and testing staff, including approximately 100 users and 30 servers. This included management of Active Directory domain, Exchange email services, and network equipment (firewalls, routers, switches). Also included support of the for the Travel Document Issuance System Photo-Digitization project (TDIS-PD) for the U.S. Department of State.

Successfully directed and managed the procurement, deployment, and integration of equipment (over $10 million in value) nationwide at 16 U.S Passport Agencies for the U.S. Department of State. This included servers, workstations, network switches\routers, Wyse terminals, printers, and miscellaneous peripheral equipment. Responsibilities encompassed the preparation and evaluation of the technical specifications for hardware\software components, managing the procurement process, requests for quotes, purchase order process, coordinating delivery, and tracking of all purchase orders of hardware and software for cost analysis and inventory purposes.
