Sr Manager Software Engineering
Managing SEs and Devs on the Platform Enablement and Cyber Enablement teams. Focusing on delivering infrastructure products (Scanning, Firewall, KeyVaults, Servers etc...) via API to our customers in the business units. This role was a shift to a matrix org model where I had a dedicated Product Owner and Scrum Master.
Sr Manager Digital Infrastructure Services
Managing traditional IT focused team managing our physical storage, compute, virtual infrastructure, OS support and lifecycle, Azure infrastructure, BC/DR tooling (and much more) across multiple locations.Led the team to modernize how BECU approaches and consumes their core infrastructure moving toward automation and infrastructure as code where possible. Led the team through an Agile/Kanban transformation, to adopt the best aspects of Agile in managing planned work, but also leaving an understanding that all work in infrastructure cannot be planned so developing a model flexible enough to accommodate for that. Also led the team through a transformation to 100% work from home, and maintained and eventually increased velocity through that transition.
Sr. Manager Of Telemetry And Alerting Services
Promoted to Sr. Manager. Led team to standardize tools and start to head toward end-to-end observibility. Improved monitoring by removing "noise" and tuning platforms based off business need and data.

Managed the team responsible for enterprise services for Central Washington University supporting faculty, staff, and students. We supported all core infrastructure (except networking/firewall) as well as a variety of on-premises, cloud, and hybrid services, and design and develop new solutions to meet the ongoing needs of the university.Led the effort to automating and reporting legacy manual HR related activities (New/Terminated employee automated access changes, account creation etc...) and this effort resulted in terminated employee accounts being disabled in minutes from days as a manual process, and new employees were provisioned within 24 hours instead of weeks with no errors, and full logging and auditing of changes.Provided training in Microsoft Office products and ITIL for university staff and consulting for the CyberSecurity club competitions among other 'non-core job' activities to support the faculty and staff.
Sr. Service Engineer
Primary engineer responsible for design of next-generation "Lab in a box" with the goal of being able to drop-ship a lab to anywhere in the world for phone/tablet development. Maintenance of current generation off-shore phone test/development labs. Used existing understanding on Windows development systems to design a hybrid solution to allow a scalable (From a few to hundreds of phones) "any platform" development solution expanding on the decentralized model that was already in place. Developed automated tools and monitoring to insure that we were optimizing the process and results gathering on existing platform to root cause issues and improve copy and de-duplication times by several fold from Redmond, to remote labs on several continents.
Service Engineering Manager
Managed relationships with Intel, AMD, and other hardware vendors. Developed support strategies, made staffing decisions, and developed standard policies in support of lab "Test and Development services". Drove standards in our environments, tools, services, and procedures to gather, analyze and drive our business. Designed and built custom solutions (hardware and automation) where the word 'standard' did not apply. Managed a team of 21 (9 Microsoft employees and 12 contract employees). Planned and managed many personal and team projects to successful conclusions. Supported large customer base of developers and testers o Windows Core Team (Emerging Technology, Kernel, Hyper-V, Storage, Security)o Fundamentals Team (Performance, Ecosystem, Licensing, and Reliability) o 10+ labs (Physical spaces) o 10,000+ physical machines and ~6,000 VMs (test and infrastructure)o Managed a hardware portfolio worth over $100M (U.S.)
Operations Engineer
Viridian project (Currently Hyper-V) Development and Test Lab manager, and Kernel Dev/Test lab for Windows Vista (Hyper-V) and Windows 7 (Kernel) Time-frames. Supported Microsoft's early venture into virtualization after the purchase of Connectix. Joined this team while it was still in 'start up' mode, and ran all IT from lab support to office support during the development of what today is Hyper-V. The lab grew from ~150 machines to over 1500 in my tenure, and shipped the first Microsoft virtualization tools.During Windows 7 managed labs where Windows Kernel is developed. Supporting this space required deep understanding of the platforms Windows ran on, boot environments, and superlative troubleshooting skills as little to nothing was "released" (and therefor documented or supported externally)in this space.Worked extensively with emerging hardware and software technologies, and found ways to support the testing and development of them within our testing harnesses, and improvised solutions where I could not find a supported solution. I developed extensive experience with production and prototype hardware, scripting, troubleshooting and developing and implementing strategies for change management that would insure availability of these critical spaces during tight timelines in the Windows release cadence.

We worked hand in hand with Dev/Test/PM as partners in supporting and deploying Advertising Engineering and Universal Profile Store for MSN properties following ITIL standards. Area of Ownership was logging and log shipping from global ad delivery system. Gained experience with load balancing, IIS, SQL, and real time troubleshooting of a high availability system supporting 250 million users, and generating a billion dollars in revenue. Rebuilt the entire ad delivery system end-to-end on virtual machines in my office to test and understand the entire system in a non-impacting way.
Operations Manager
Managed the Night shifts in 24x7 global operations center. Helped move organization toward "best practices using ITIL and MOF guidelines. Was responsible for executive escalations and managing major incidents through resolution. Developed policies, and procedures, interviewed, and helped define hiring processes. Directly supervised two shifts (front and back half of week) consisting of 5 people each.Developed 'gap' team to handle common escalations before they reached tier 2 teams for after hour support. Selected all staff, and developed all processes followed by this team. Also sought out 'customer' teams and developed their content and support models. Team grew from 3 customers services to nearly 20 in the year I managed it, and from 3 staff initially to 12 when I left.
