My research sits at the junction between human resource management, critical management studies, and organisational theory. Previously, my research focused on high commitment management, it's determinants, it's predictors, and applicability within a health care setting.The centre of interest of my current research is organisational theory. Concurrent with the increasing complexity of the field of management, the need to re-examine the foundations from which its theories have advanced has become ever more important.Theoretically, I am influenced by American social worker and philosopher Mary Parker Follett and Elton Mayo, an Australian born psychologist and industrial researcher. I am particularly drawn to their human relations theories and any possible connections between Follett's and Mayo's theoretical concepts, and contemporary HR practices.I have successfully tutored students in multidisciplinary areas by providing guidance for essay writing skills, assessing coursework, and exams for courses. I am a certified member of the Australian Human Resources Institute and a fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders (Australia and New Zealand).
