As a dual ticketed journeyman in Refrigeration (Red Seal) and Gas Fitting, I have over twenty years of experience working in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) industry as a service technician and as a manager. I also have additional training and experience working on indoor air quality (IAQ), residential and commercial energy efficiency, and solar and geothermal energy systems. Over the past twenty years I have worked for many companies in 3 Canadian provinces and the South Pacific island nation of Vanuatu. As a result I adapt to situations and groups quickly. I have worked on many different kinds of residential, commercial and industrial HVACR, solar, and geothermal systems.In 2008, I had the opportunity to take a seminar with Light Up The World that inspired my interest in sustainable energy. I was able to help with a project in Haiti for solar power and I installed a solar system in a remote village in Vanuatu. I have also worked on some of the solar PV and solar thermal systems in Medicine Hat. I have repaired and maintained geothermal and heat pump systems in Alberta and B.C. As well, I recently completed a solar PV design and installation workshop.I am passionate about helping others achieve their best as a trainer of HVAC apprentices and starting an organization in Vanuatu called RACA (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Association) of Vanuatu. This organization was created to help the government meet its Kyoto Protocols and to make sure people working in the industry were treated fairly and received proper training. I was also invited to review and edit the training material for the Refrigeration course at Australia Pacific Technical College (APTC) in Samoa.I am a community-minded individual and have volunteered for numerous charities such as Worlds of Women Together, Canadian Humanitarian, CARO, 100 Men Who Give a Damn, Youth Challenge Vanuatu, and numerous sustainable energy related events in Canada.
