So here is my story. Some young people know just what they want to do. Not me. I was largely undecided when I went to college and took a tough curriculum in mechanical engineering at Lehigh University. I learned how to solve problems. I wanted to be at the pinnacle of corporate America, so I started work in sales at a Fortune 500 company. I wanted to be the hero of the story. I felt like a hero with success in sales at four companies. A stint in market development led me to help launch a whole new way of manufacturing large-scale parts with additive manufacturing. The initial success made me feel like a hero, but I was still missing something. What I did was guide my company to success. The management of the company and the owner were the heroes. The scientists that developed the technology at a national lab were heroes. The customers who adopted and successfully implemented the technology were the heroes. I was just the guide. I saw their needs and capabilities and used my expertise to guide them on the shortest path to success. Consulting is my calling. I get to use my expertise to guide experts in their field to success. My job is to make you the hero of your story.
