I was a contractor hired mainly to do their Nextel re-banding..... the duties included bench work and field work flashing radios for the Nextel re-banding project. In addition upgrading user end Motorola radios flashing firmware, template builds and programming radios. Repair and FCC radios send to depot if necessary

After American Messaging took over Verizon Paging formerly Airtouch and Pactel paging, I was responsible for decommissioning P5 VHF paging of about 50 sites in and around Atlanta and the Carolinas. I also managed the relocation of approximately thirty 900 MHz Airtouch sites that Verizon inherited. Verizon wanted to make room for their 3G at the time so we were to relocated the 900 MHz paging transmitters out of their buildings into an outdoor cabinet or relocate to another tower site nearby. I also maintained the 900 MHz paging transmitters in the same area. Had to return home due to wife's illness she was diagnosed with Parkinson's. I was able to complete project in 5 months

I was disappointed to find out that this radio shop was not a MSS in WPB and that they didn't even have a shop... there was a small bench in the corner of a sales office.... They were a Motorola dealer and we were there to mainly support sales... Most radio repairs were shipped off to the Daytona shop. When American Messaging reached out for me to join them in Atlanta I jumped for the better opportunity

USA Mobility was a culmination of 4 of the largest paging carriers, PageNet, Metrocall, Arch Paging and PageMart/Weblink Wireless. We were decommissioning and combining these systems into one efficient paging network. The Weblink two-way paging infrastructure and the PageNet one-way paging footprint. I also maintained the system in my area. After a short period of time I came down with double pneumonia and they were forced to lay me off due to excessive absences.

I was trying to get acclimated to working the bench repairing and programming radios, mainly Motorola and ICOM. At the time I was inefficient at programming and was not working the bench as management would have liked so I was layed off due to poor skill set. Due to a gap working in the paging field I was not up to date with current two-way radios. I did fix a MSR2000 repeater from back in the late 80's.

I was a contractor maintaining the EDACS System for the State of Florida. Myself and another tech had 30 plus sites from Marianna to Pensacola Fl. I was located in Panama City. This job was great even though it was MA/Com radio equipment. But it was an 800 MHz system and it was a well maintained system with a monthly PM routine. I drove around and would PM a couple of sites daily... I would do service if necessary. They found a guy that would work for far less than I wanted if hired permanently so when my contract ran out it was not renewed and I went home to Greensboro

We were formerly PageMart Wireless. After we built out the two-way paging network we changed the name to WebLink Wireless. In 1995 myself and another guy maintained 50 sites and during the next three years built out 70 more sites for a total of 120 sites in the Carolinas and Savannah Ga. We hired a third guy in Charleston SC after we commissioned the two-way infrastructure the senior tech from Charlotte left and I was made senior tech by this time we had 4 if us maintaining 240 transmitters... in 2002 we went into Chapter 11. Metrocall bought us out and many WebLink folks were let go in 2003.
