About Rick Saylor
Dr. Rick D. Saylor is a Physical Scientist at the Atmospheric Turbulence and Diffusion Division of NOAA's Air Resources Laboratory in Oak Ridge, TN. He obtained a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Kentucky and has over thirty years of experience as a researcher in atmospheric chemistry and air quality. His expertise includes statistical analysis and interpretation of field data and numerical modeling of atmospheric physics and chemistry from urban, to regional, to global scales. He has authored or co-authored over 70 articles in peer-reviewed journals or conference proceedings, participated in over 100 research presentations at scientific conferences or seminars, and authored or co-authored five technical reports. He has held positions in a variety of settings, including a U. S. EPA research laboratory, a Department of Energy national laboratory, an atmospheric chemistry research group at Georgia Tech, a private contract research company, and now at NOAA. His current research interests are focused on boundary-layer and surface-atmosphere exchange processes and their impacts on air quality, weather and climate.
