At Ooni, I helped bring great pizza to more people through well-considered software projects. Making pizza at home is hard, and can be intimidating for first-timers. On the Learning & Inspiration team, we built products that make that process fun and accessible to customers of all skill levels.While at Ooni, I’ve helped improve recipe pages, designed a video-based learning product, and upgraded key landing pages on the Ooni storefront to improve site performance. I like to work on design from end-to-end; from understanding customers to helping build the products that delight them (and a robust component library that delights the engineering team).- Applying human-centric Design Thinking to a wide array of projects, all with an accessible-first and inclusive approach- Building out a Design System that can scale with Ooni’s digital brand, and improve the UI consistency of key eCommence landing page- Using data and hands-on user research to influence key project decisions and move products in the right direction- Running workshops with stakeholders to identify problems, come up with solutions, and improve key customer journeys

Joined a small startup to help passionate sports fans find and trade cards from their favourite players, on iOS and the web. Our goal was to make the experience of trading, collecting, and managing a collection of cards easier, smoother, and more fun. In my time, I worked with the engineering and live events teams to define the future of the company’s live card breaks and auctions. StarStock was taking a big step into live events so I was focused on making sure the user experience looks great, works great, and reflects the excitement that users bring to the hobby. That means building a captivating UI with scalability and accessibility built in, not just applied as an afterthought.- Fleshing out design processes that can scale with the size and speed of the growing engineering and design teams- Introducing a Design System that builds on the team’s existing library, with a focus on accessibility and consistency- Creating a user research strategy, and building up a pool of users, to help identify unmet needs and quickly test ideas with real users- Identifying areas of improvement in existing features and pushing the product forward with new features, around live video draws

Worked with a great team of designers, product owners, and engineers to make learning more fun. The majority of our time was spent on the company’s flagship product, Twig Science, to improve the digital experience for teachers and students.I worked on various features across Twig products, including building games that helped 4th graders learn about volcanoes and classroom management tools for busy teachers. The approach across those projects was always user-centric with a focus on strong concepts that are accessible and scale well, to thousands of teachers and students, across hundreds of schools.- Creating and maintaining a comprehensive, accessible Design System that allowed our team to build efficiently at scale- Running user-centred design sprints to quickly take projects from the ideas phase to prototype and user testing, within a week- Leading the product research effort, within the design team, to bring more user’s voices into our decision-making processes- Introducing a scalable, well-considered information hierarchy that could be shared across multiple products

At Metix Medical, I helped shape the startup’s main product, Coremed, which aimed to improve pre-hospital care in emergencies.- Working with the CTO and medical professionals to turn the products siloed feature set into a cohesive, easy to use web-monitoring application- Advising on the design of a handheld medical device and the software that ran on it, allowing me to consider every aspect of the product- Interviewing and understanding the needs of emergency services workers, and allowing their experience to influence the design of the product

Worked at a small agency building eLearning and business enablement tools. My team was focused on creating digital experience to streamline paper-based tasks.- Building out an interactive case study tool (using HTML and CSS) that business seminar attendees could use during workshops and take home- Working with engineers on our first digital product, Cloud Practice Accelerator (CPA), which won an excellence award from Cisco- Bringing together a small team of engineers and business analysts to solve user problems and create clean, simple products
