I am accountable for the value proposition to our customers and was recently appointed as a direct report to the CEO. The organization built in this short time includes customer care for 1.3M residential and small commercial customers and over a thousand transmission and distribution connected industrials and distributors, pricing and load forecasting, and business development. In the latter post I have accountability for technology innovation in distribution and mergers and acquisitions.Successes since January 2013: - Built an end to end customer focused organization and changed the governance model in this area to include all lines of business, developed a measurement framework to ensure alignment to a common customer service goal. - Changed our pricing and conditions of service strategy to be more outcome based, competitive while enhancing financial prudence. - Created an organization charged with value growth, early successes include a recent $100M acquisition, approximately another $150M in exclusive negotiations and over $500M in advanced discussions.

In this position I lead a team of engineers and investment planners accountable for the company’s $3B annual investment portfolio. In this 2 year post the team developed risk based investment prioritization tools that innovated the asset analytics process resulting in longer term fact based plans and rock solid regulatory evidence. We also went live with several other innovations and business processes including the launch of our version of smart grid focused on enabling large volumes (10k+ generators and >1700MW) of renewable energy on a century old distribution system. The enterprise solution developed is also a platform for automation, safety and customer service initiatives that will provide further value to company.Successes: - Industry awards in smart grid, telecommunications, smart meters and the opportunity to speak internationally. - Regulatory cost of service settlements in both transmission and distribution, a historic first enabled by the quality of evidence. The settlements aligned with the company’s aggressive need for reinvestment and technology upgrades.

I lead all aspects of the Hydro One Smart Meter program since 2005 and Smart Grid 2009. In 2010 assumed the lead of the distribution business development program to consolidate and provide a single point of transformation across the business.Successes: - 1.3M smart meters installed safely, on time and on budget. The vast majority of our customers are now on and embracing time-of-use pricing. In addition to field operations the project team delivered a fully integrated business process and technology solution. - Launched Hydro One`s Smart Grid Program architected to include smart meter as an application with further objectives that included Renewable Generation enablement, Distribution Automation, Outage Optimization, Distribution Planning (data analytics) and Customer Enablement. - A key team win was securing dedicated wireless spectrum for the monitoring, control and protecting of electrical assets – a sale of our strategy to Industry Canada. Similar spectrum auctions are valued in the billions of dollars.
