Appointed PositionsU.S. Government 1978 - 1980During President Carter's administration, Rick served as Deputy Assistant General Counsel at DOD, was Legal Advisor to the Delta Force, handled highly-classified intelligence-related tasks for DOD, oversaw the Defense Investigative Service, and managed a Steering Group for the Deputy Secretary of Defense to combat fraud and waste. He was also a U.S. delegate to the Micronesian Political Status Negotiations. Later, Rick moved to DOE as director of the Secretary’s largest staff office and manager of the energy department’s 10 regional offices. He was awarded a Special Citation for Outstanding Performance.
