Worked since finishing my education in shipping, and after 42 years I still do this with a lot of pleasure. I have always been attracted by the challenges each niche in shipping is facing, and particularly in finding the (technical) solutions which are necessary to cope with these challenges. Since 1993 I have been working in management positions, always strongly connected to the work floor, (the ships and the people on board) as the money is earned (or spent) overthere. My competences are: -structured, without being inflexible - result driven - direct feedback, respecting everyone's qualities - a no nonsense and straight forward work attitude, agreed is agreed - coaching colleagues in order to improve performance and results - "hand on" when circumstances require this - considering it self-evident to take the lead and/or responsibilities.
