I am trying to re-establish my career in providing quality IT customer service, as either a Desktop Support Administrator or Systems Analyst.Over the past decade, I have been self-employed as a freelance technical writer and fiction author, working from home. Prior to this, I was a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) working over six years through EDS (Electronic Data Systems) as a Senior IT Systems Analyst at Philips Semiconductors; as well as several years performing iOS & Windows desktop/server support at AMD, Applied Materials, and six months resolving cross-platform UNIX versus PC file transfer issues at NASA Ames Research Center.For the past 6 months, I had been working as a Customer Service Representative at Bay Alarm Medical (contracted through Aerotek), working from home in a high-volume call center for technical support; however, I was not being challenged enough.During my college years, I worked at Denny’s Restaurant as a waiter; before moving into data entry and advanced IT computer hardware/software support with various IT service contractors. After being a waiter, I have a much greater respect for what waitpersons/waitstaff go through every day: It is not just remembering who ordered what, there is a lot more involved behind the scenes in preparing salads, drinks, communicating with the cooks, money handling, food time management, prepping the service area, reorganizing the walk-in coolers, assisting the cleaning crew, and – of course – handling unexpected emergencies in a timely manner. Much of these same skills are involved in the IT industry.I know what will be expected of me as far as customer relations. I enjoy meeting new people and I make new friends easily. I am very upbeat, outgoing, and work well with others. I believe that teamwork is incredibly important, and that there is never such a thing as a "stupid question."I've been told that I'm a dedicated team player, good communicator, and very organized. I enjoy being creative and coming up with new innovations. Anything unfamiliar to me takes only a few hours to learn and master. Everyone gets frustrated at times, yet I use frustration positively as an energy boost to get the job done!Thank you for your time and consideration!
