A member of the team that supports over 60 databases on a variety of hardware in several locations across the United States. Hardware ranging from Oracle’s High Availability Database Appliances to Virtual Machines. Oracle specific skills include RAC, Transparent Data Encryption, Partitioning, and Oracle’s Enterprise Manager. The current Oracle Enterprise Edition version in use is 19c. We have shifted heavily to the cloud, leveraging Kafka and PostgreSQL for new implementations since 2022. Responsibilities include Linux configuration/support, installation and configuration of Confluent Kafka clusters. Security management through SSL certificates and ACLs. Monitoring with Prometheus & Grafana and Linux shell scripting.Once any these environments are implemented, the focus moves to promoting stability, availability, security, and performance.

Member of a Database Team supporting 36 databases on HP-UX, Oracle Unbreakable Linux, and Microsoft Windows. Oracle versions 10gR2 and 11gR2. Currently supporting two RAC installations, the largest cluster is 5 nodes. The largest database is 26TB. Optional Oracle features implemented include Partitioning, Streams, Total Recall, and Transparent Data Encryption. Duties performed include general database administration, upgrades, installations and RMAN backup configurations. Also provide end user, development, and design/architecture support.

Supporting an environment with 29 Oracle databases on Sun, AIX, and Windows platforms. Versions range from 11g to 8i. Operating Systems include Sun, AIX, and Windows. Experience beyond day to day administration includes, but is not limited to RMAN, TDE (Transparent Data Encryption), Data Guard, and partitioning. Responsibilities in the role include, but not limited to backup and recovery, patching, tuning, troubleshooting, and developer support.

Supporting the Oracle infrastructure, which includes Oracle Apps and Discoverer. Some responsibility taken for the SQL Server environments. Oracle versions range from 9.2.0.3 to 10gR2. SQL Server 2000 and 2005.

Supported a small Oracle 9i/10g environment and provided secondary support for a recently acquired company. Worked with systems and applications architects to design an Oracle infrastructure to support four separate projects. Installed/Configured Oracle's Grid Control to manage this new environment. Also developing new skills in the DB2/OS390, DB2/UDB, and SQL Server environments.

Worked as a contract Oracle DBA on a 5 member team supporting over 70 databases. Databases resided on AIX, SUN, and HP/UX environments. Oracle versions range from 8.0.6 to 10g. Supported databases near 1 terabyte in size. Daily tasks included- supporting application groups when pushing changes from QA to production, applying Oracle patches, performing database upgrades, tuning SQL scripts, implementing Oracle Enterprise Manager, supporting end users, etc.

Responsible for data movement, migration, and translation between internal systems. Core member of Murray's initial UCCNET initiative; responsible for designing the data repository and working with application champions to determine the source of the required data elements. Provided guidance to developers and application specialists, working with them to develop standards, documentation, and increase system availability. The DBA team was responsible for more than 20 Oracle instances on HP/UX and Windows 2000. Working with Oracle versions 8.1.7 - 9.2.0. The array of applications included CODA Financials, Cincom Manufacturing, and a custom Order Management System. DBA efforts were focused on environment standardization, disaster recovery and proactive maintenance/monitoring.

Senior Database Administrator for Nike U.S. Apparel. Supported 19 Oracle instances residing on HP/UX and Windows/NT. Co-owner of a project to implement a data access strategy for the Memphis Apparel facility. Became a member of the Global Distribution Support team and provided second level Oracle support for our Korean distribution center.

Led a team of functional and technical resources for business analysis and design of PeopleSoft Human Resources/Payroll version 5.11. Sole responsibility for technical implementation running Oracle 7.2.3 on DG/UX database server with Novell 4.11 on the application server and Windows 95 on the workstations. Served as the technical lead for PeopleSoft Financials including GL, AP, AR, and Asset Management modules. Database Administrator for all Oracle databases including PeopleSoft HR/Payroll, Financials, and Datastream Materials Management system. Other duties included end user support, software installation, and Unix and Novell systems administration.
