I bring over 30 years of experience as project principal, architect, and construction manager / superintendent. I strongly believe that architecture is the result of Design and Execution. Because of the belief that execution is crucial to the formula for architecture, I worked as a superintendent for two years on the addition and renovations of the Westmoreland Museum of American Art. I developed an appreciation for the collaborative relationship between architect and contractor during this time working at the museum.My expertise in detailing and building science is now playing an important role in the quest to design performance-driven design and construction for new and existing buildings. I use the approach of a “passive-first” strategic solution integrating 21st century building science knowledge with cross-disciplinary integration, Passive House and USGBC-LEED principles representing specific examples.
